Mötley Crüe Announces 2020 Stadium Reunion Tour Dates Alongside Poison and Def Leppard

The one and only Mötley Crüe have announced an epic reunion tour for 2020. The band released a video earlier today about the reunion by literally exploding their Cessation Touring Agreement from 2014 to pieces in true Mötley Crüe fashion. Check out the announcement video featuring the explosion below. Poison and Def Leppard are set to join the stadium outing with tour dates yet to be announced. Fans in the U.S. can sign up for text updates by texting MotleyCrueIsBack to 855 580 CRÜE (2783) or sign up for email updates at the band’s official website to get more tour details and any other Mötley Crüe breaking news.

The new tour will mark the band’s first outing since their final show on New Year’s Eve in 2015 at The Forum in Los Angeles, CA, playing over 158 shows worldwide. All original members are set to return; Vince Neil, Nikki Sixx, Mick Mars, and Tommy Lee. Since that farewell tour, the band got together last year to take part in their autobiographical film The Dirt, based on the biography of the same name. The band released four new tracks to coincide with it, with fans speculating for a comeback.

Rapper and actor Machine Gun Kelly portrayed Lee in the film and had made a statement about the upcoming reunion. Since playing Tommy Lee in The Dirt, so many of my fans have said how they wish they could’ve seen the real Mötley Crüe play live. I never thought I would see the day when this would become a reality.  But the fans spoke and Mötley Crüe listened!”

Sixx told Rolling Stone in 2014 that they couldn’t legally play again after the completion of the farewell tour. “The only loophole is if all four band members agreed to do it, we could override our own contract,” he said. “But we know that will never happen. There are people in this band who will refuse to ever do it again, and you’re talking to one of them. There is no amount of money that would ever make me do it again because I have such pride in how we’re ending it.”

Def Leppard had hit the festival circuit throughout this year, including UK’s Download Festival and Tennessee’s Exit 111 Festival alongside Guns N’ Roses, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Slayer, ZZ Top, and Deftones.
