Suicide Silence Debuts Somber Music Video for Track “Love Me to Death”

A new metal video by Suicide Silence showcases a story like no other for their track, “Love Me to Death” which is heavy, intense and sinister in nature. The video shows a girl locked away in deplorable conditions, while her father is lying dead on the floor, shot by an arrow. Her mother raises her and throws in a metal bowl of food, treating her like a dog her entire life, punishing her and never letting her out of the locked room. The house is in the middle of nowhere, down a remote road and its foggy and creepy outside. Eventually the little girl grows up and her mother cries in what seems to be an apology but the little girl gets her vengeance by shoving a shard of glass in her mother’s neck.

While the vocals shout “Love me to Death” repeatedly set against thrash metal, heavy guitar, bass and drums it is fitting for the video. There is also a moment of satisfaction for the child that suffered endlessly in the end getting her vengeance against her captors. For a moment it seems she may take her own life as she washes the blood from her hands. She searches through a box after stabbing her mother and finds a card with a man in a hooded cape called The Hunter. In the end he appears and says, “Thee hee” then slices her mothers head completely off.

Scott Hansen directed the video for both “Meltdown” and “Love Me To Death” and both tracks are part of an ongoing series of conceptually linked videos with more entries to come. These two songs are also now available on streaming services. Suicide Silence who hail from California will release their sixth studio album, Become The Hunter, on February 14, 2020 via Nuclear Blast.

The video for “Love Me to Death” is part two following a video for “Meltdown” which is part one which. The video for “Meltdown” shows a young boy shooting an arrow straight through the body of what appears to be his father. The young girl in the video who watches him fall to the floor is the same young girl in “Love Me to Death” video. She picks up the card which shows The Hunter on it, similar theme to part two.

Become The Hunter was produced by Steve Evetts at The Omen Room and mixed by Josh Wilbur, while Ted Jensen  mastered the album at Sterling Sound Studios in Nashville, Tennessee. The artwork for the album was created by Adrian Baxter.

Kelly Tucker: Originally from Los Angeles, I grew up listening to all types of music. My first concert was Aerosmith with Skid Row, then moved on to concerts with Metallica, Lollapalooza, Guns N’ Roses, Soundgarden and more. One of my favorite shows of all time was when I was in college and someone took me to see the Allman Brothers play. I also scalped a ticket to see Pearl Jam and the amazing Eddie Vedder sing his heart out. My professional career started in 2000 at Nielsen Business Media where I was an assistant in a sales department and later got promoted to advertising account executive. When the recession hit in 2008 and the magazine was sold, I took a job at a call center and later got promoted to assistant to the CEO and COO of a global company. In 2017, I took a position at a pharmaceutical agency, and now currently responsible for coordinating meeting logistics for physicians and pharma reps throughout the United States. In my spare time, I work at Peace4Kids a non-profit in South Los Angeles and write screenplays in hopes to make a breakthrough.
