Alternative rock band …And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead are celebrating their 25th anniversary with a new album release entitled X: The Godless Void and Other Stories, their first studio album in 6 years. This upcoming Dine Alone records release is supported by a new music video directed by member Conrad Keely entitled “Don’t Look Down.”
“Don’t Look Down,” is a rotoscoped music video, which blends live-action sequences and animation, showing various shots of the band performing and travelling across the United States. This latest track is a straightforward rock song, with catchy guitar chords, straightforward vocal deliveries and upbeat drums.
The bands most recent album release IX, debuted in 2014 and blended a mix of post-hardcore and alternative rock into the band’s music. The band members describe this latest release as being inspired by artists such as Talk Talk, Killing Joke and Laurie Anderson.
“I feel like I’m writing pop music,” Keely explained regarding the album.“It’s just not Top 20 pop. It’s the pop music I wish was on the radio, the pop music I would’ve grown up with.”
“There’s definitely the idea of loss, leaving someone or something important in your life, but it’s more abstract,” Jason Reece, the band’s drummer and part-time frontman elaborated.
Back in 2015 the band debuted a new track entitled “Lie Without Liar,” which took inspirations from Arthurian legends, mixed in with the real world. The band made an appearance earlier this year at the prominent SXSW festival, which featured the likes of Sir Sly and Andrew W.K.
