Billie Eilish’s New Song “everything i wanted’ is an Ode to Sibling Love

On Nov. 13, 17-year-old American singer and songwriter, Billie Eilish debuted her new single, “everything i wanted,” co-written by her older brother, Finneas O’Connel, since the release of her first album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?

In the first few seconds of her single, the dreamy-like synth embellishments slowly transcends as her voice smoothly creeps up for the first verse. The soft beats complement her voice as she sings about ‘how she has a dream.’

Eilish sings about this dream, which she interpreted as a nightmare, how if she stepped off of the Golden, nobody would notice. She lyrically speaks, as if someone says, “as long as I am here, no one can hurt you.”

Pain and confusion is uttered through her lyrics, and exemplified by the soft beats in the background.

“This song is one my brother and I wrote about each other,” said Eilish. “No matter what happens, we always have been and will be there to make it better.”

Recently, Eilish announced her Spring Where Do We Go? World Tour, which kicks off on March 3, 2020 in Miami, FL at the AmericanAirlines Arena. The world tour will be covering South America, North America and Europe, as she will be promoting her multi-platinum album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?
