Kanye West Is Bringing Sunday Service to Joel Osteen’s Houston Mega-Church

Kanye West will be bringing his Sunday Service to televangelist Joel Osteen’s Lakewood mega-church in Houston, Texas on Sunday November 17th. This is anticipated to be the performers largest Sunday Service performance yet,  with the facility topping out at an attendance of 45,000, with another 10 million tuning in via Sirius XM and telecast.

West has been taking his Sunday Service shows across numerous churches across the country, with a recent appearance at Atlanta’ Georgia’s New Birth Missionary Baptist Church attracting some mild controversy. Apparently rapper T.I. stated he felt “exploited,” after one preacher, Bishop I.V. Hilliard reportedly said, “I’m believing for 20 people to give $1,000 today” upon noticing the front pews were filled with wealthy rappers who came at West’s invitation.

Osteen has also attracted some controversy, in 2017 the preacher famously locked the doors to his congregation during Hurricane Harvey. The church is notorious for its size and costs, renovations to the building allegedly cost around $100 million, while the church itself has reportedly $90 million annual budget.

West has been hosting Sunday services for most of the year, with appearances at The Forum in Inglewood, and even performance at Coachella. The rapper has also called for some strange practices to be taken during the recording of his latest album Jesus Is King, and reportedly asked collaborators to avoid premarital sex.

He has also recently debuted a new music video for the song “Follow God,” from Jesus Is King, which stars him and his father driving through his 4000 acre ranch is Cody, Wyoming.
