It’s easy to see how lethal My Chemical Romance is. Two weeks after My Chemical Romance announced their approaching reunion, the band’s 2006 album The Black Parade re-enters several Billboard charts this week, Loudwire reports. The band reaches more than one Billboard chart on Nov. 9 since their reunion announcement on Oct. 31; the band’s catalog also leaped 10% in streams and 12% in album units.
A Twitter from Chart Data revealed the return, which reads:
“My Chemical Romance’s ‘The Black Parade’ re-enters this week’s Billboard 200, earning its first appearance in over 2 years (+100% in sales; @MCRofficial)” the site shared to Twitter early Monday (Nov. 11).”
According to the Chart Data, The Black Parade has the potential to score into Billboard 200 Chart for the week. Since Nov.16. Kanye West’s new album Jesus is the King led the rank dated Nov.9. Classic records that still sit on the charts include Queen’s Greatest Hits, The Beatles’ Abbey Road and Michael Jackson’s Thriller.
Rising from New York’s underground to the forefront of modern rock waves, My Chemical Romance served as one of the biggest rock sensations in the early ’00s. In 2001, frontman Gerard Way filled the line-up with drummer Matt Pelissier, guitarist Ray Toro, bassist Mikey Way and guitarist Frank Iero. Their turbulent music was known for a good balance of theatrical vocals and neo-goth style with a borrow of emo-punk. Their junior effort The Black Parade album released in 2006 put the band’s name on the map. Classic tracks “Welcome to the Black Parade,” “Teenagers” and “I Don’t Love You” were born in this album and are still beloved by fans.
To celebrate their tenth anniversary, My Chemical Romance released The Black Parade with the deluxe reissue in 2016, which was formatted as a 2CD/3LP set. The reissue of The Black Parade/Living with Ghosts contained a second disc of demos and live tracks. You can check out HERE.
My Chemical Romance’s first live show since 2012 embarks on Dec. 20 at the Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles, California. The band added more shows in Australia, New Zealand and Japan: they will be taking part in Australia’s Download festival, which takes place at the Melbourne Showgrounds on Mar.20 and Sydney’s Parramatta Park on Mar.21; they will also perform at the Outer Fields in Western Springs, New Zealand on Mar.25 and Japan’s Download Festival on March 29. Frontman Gerard Way’s comic book The Umbrella Academy was recently turned into drama shows and is airing on Netflix.
