Katy Goodman of Vivian Girls Reveals Medical Emergency From Pregnancy Complications Caused Tour Date Cancellations

The power trio Vivian Girls has recently canceled their remaining shows for their 2019 tour due to medical issues faced by bassist Katy Goodman. Goodman recently posted on Twitter due to complications around her pregnancy, she was unable fly for the fianl dates of the tour.

UPDATE (11/6): Goodman has clarified via Twitter that the specific reason she couldn’t fly was because she was dealing with the complications of an ectopic pregancy, which occurs when the embryo implants outside the uterus (usually in the fallopian tubes). This is a rare (but not extremely rare) condition and is an extremely dangerous situation for the mother and unfortunately also leaves the embryo unviable. Our thoughts are with Goodman and her family in the wake of this news and as she recovers from the medical care.

Vivian Girls are a kick-ass woman fronted power trio based out of Brooklyn New York who would lay the foundation for lo-fi surf indie rock when they released their self-titled album in 2008. They quickly became the focal point for indie blogs across the internet and received praise from multiple sources sighting their debut as a pivotal point for indie music. They took a hiatus after releasing two albums, and have recently reunited, put out another album, and have been running a tour in support.

Cassie Ramone (guitarist/vocals) filled in with solo set in place of the full band.

Justin Campagnone: I have worked in the music industry for the past 10 years starting as a promotions associate for local radio stations all the way to booking shows and running music festivals across New England. EDM, Jam Bands, and Stoner/Doom are my forte. The slower and heavier, the better.
