Shot at The House On The Rock in Spring Green, WI, the music video for “Somedays (I Don’t Feel Like Trying)” is a new anecdote from The Raconteurs. Like salt and pepper, the famous landmark of Wisconsin makes the track sound more tasteful this time.
Directed by Ben Chappell, the music video showcases an awe-inspiring valley view of the House On The Rock. In the video, the historic attractions and the folk sound of “Somedays (I Don’t Feel Like Trying)” go hand in hand. The heartbreaking blues of the whole song can be found when Brendan Benson is playing guitar in the spacious Infinity Room; it can also be found when the band is performing at the dazzling Blue Room of Music of Yesterday. The Raconteurs was founded in 2005 when power pop maestro Brendan Benson teamed up with The White Stripes’ guitarist Jack White. The Greenhornes’ drummer Patrick Keeler and bassist Jack Lawrence later filled out the line-up and formed this self-described “new band made up of old friends.” The single “Somedays (I Don’t Feel Like Trying)” is one of the tracks from their latest album, Help Us Stranger, which marks The Raconteurs’ first release after an 11-year hiatus.
In support of their new album Help Us Stranger, The Raconteurs are currently touring across several cities in the US, South America and Hawaii. The two-month tour embarks on November 7 at The Fillmore NOLA in New Orleans, LA; King James & The Special Men will make their guest appearance at the first stop.
