The Breeders have debuted a new music video for their track “Walking With a Killer,” which is originally featured on their 2018 album release All Nerve. This latest video was directed and animated by Marcos Sanchez, and features footage taken from The Prelinger Archives, which hosts a collection of films relating to U.S. cultural history, the evolution of the American landscape, everyday life, and social history.
This latest video blends animation, with vintage black and white films, which creates an eerie yet, psychedelic topne which matches the soothing indie rock track. Various plants are shown through the animation infecting the human characters, who are shown in various spots, as the plants begin to overtake their bodies, in traditional body-horror fashion.
“Happy All Hallows’ Eve, All Saints Day, All Souls Eve, All Souls Day, etc.,” the band wrote in a statement. “We have compiled a playlist of songs to help you celebrate. Not so much soul, though… more new wave.”
All Nerve served as the band’s first full length studio album in a decade, following the release of their 2008 project Mountain Battles. This project was supported by its title track, and the single “Wait in the Car,” which were released prior to the album. Following the release of the album, the group released homemade music video for the track “Nervous Mary.”
“Although it is not an album that can be easily described, given the duality of its weak and strong moments, it is a commendable choice on The Breeders part to return after ten years,” mxdwn reviewer Henry Piper explained regarding the album.
