Devin Townsend has recently announced the lineup for his second volume of tours, which will include Dirk Verbeuren of Megadeth, Wes Hauch who has played guitar for The Faceless, Glass Casket and Black Crown Initiate and Kyle Konkiel of Bad Wolves. This upcoming tour is expected to be “heavier,” than the first volume.
Townsend also explained that this new set of shows are expected to be more limited, and are set to take place mostly in the summer. These tours are in support of Townsend’s recent album release Empath, which was released back in March.
In addition to confirming the recent tour lineup, Townsend has stated that this tour volume will also host a rotating cast of members throughout its run. He has also stated that there will be a “decidedly un-metal” run for his third volume of tours next year as well. The performer already hosted an acoustic tour of the recent album earlier this year.
Townsend will also be kicking off the new year with a performance at the 70000 tons of metal cruise, which will take place from Jan 7 – Jan 11, 2020. Volume one of his upcoming Empath tour features drummer Morgan Ågren of Kaipa, guitarist Mike Keneally of Dethklok, Ambient guitarist Markus Reuter of Stick Men, Stick Men, keyboardist Diego Tejeida of Haken, singer and guitarist Ché Aimee Dorval of Casuatlies of Cool and bassist Nathan Navarro, as well as a three person choir comprised of Samantha and Anne Preis, and Arabella Packford.
