Sturgill Simpson has announced a new set of 2020 North American tour dates, which will feature a live band, and support from American singer-songwriter Tyler Childers. The tour, called A Good Look’N Tour, will begin in Birmingham Alabama at the Legacy Arena, and will finish up at the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Kentucky.
“We are a live band. Everyone knows we are a live band,” Simpson stated in a press release regarding the recent tour announcement. “Steal the record or give it away, just come to the shows. For free tickets send a message to Tyler’s Instagram.”
This latest set of tour dates follows his recent Underplay tour, which has just wrapped up its short six date stint across small venues around the United States. These shows were part of a intimate settings such as The Troubadour in West Hollywood and the Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, New York.
Earlier this year, Simpson released the album, Sound & Fury, which was accompanied by an anime film of the same title directed by Jumpei Mizusaki, of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure. Simpson originally unveiled this multi-media project at this year’s Comic Con in San Diego, California.
“We went in without any preconceived notions and came out with a really sleazy, steamy rock n roll record. It’s definitely my most psychedelic. And also my heaviest,” Simpson explained in a press release. “I had this idea that it’d be really cool to animate some of these songs, and we ended up with a futuristic, dystopian, post-apocalyptic, samurai film.”
