Logic Debuts Sensitive-Atmospheric Track “OCD” Featuring DWN2EARTH

Spoken like a true underdog, Def Jam Recordings hip-hop artist, Logic laments his frustrations balancing his personal and public life on his newly released single “OCD” Featuring DWN2EARTH. It’s compelling to both see and hear when Logic fervently proves to his audience his rightful place in hip hop, when his artistry is continually challenged and brought into question from his naysayers.

Born Sir Robert Bryson Hall II, Logic has had a tumultuous couple of years personally and professionaly stemming from a divorce from his wife of two years, just last year, to most recently being engaged and re-married expecting his first child this year. Embraced for his accolades, especially with his first couple of studio albums, that helped produce his most critically acclaimed single “1-800-273-8255” off his most celebrated studio release Logic’s third studio album, 2017’s Everybody. Logic has also been counted out when it comes to branching out to do other things like writing his first novel Supermarket and the lackluster reactions and poor album sales with the tie-in soundtrack to the novel.

With his latest track “OCD” Logic hints at going back to the drawing board and mirroring a more personal sound that is reminiscent to his breakout debut album, 2014’s Under Pressure. “OCD,” produced by frequent Logic collaborator 6ix, opens the track with atmospheric, soft and tranquil vocals provided by DWN2EARTH. As soon as the beat hits, the production kicks the track up a notch yet still retaining a slow, but heavy current anchored by Logic’s introspective lyrics. According to Rolling Stone, “‘OCD’ boasts heavy drums and a bruised bass that anchor a woozy mix of synths and a hypnotic vocal loop. Dwn2earth drapes his sweet croon over the production, while Logic leans into it with heady reflections on the pressures of celebrity: from providing for his family to feeling like a prop in other peoples’ Instagram pictures.”

“’They’d rather snap a pic with you to go get more likes than usual,’ he raps, “’Than have a conversation, back in the basement with no placement/ Couldn’t ever fathom talking to my favorite rapper that way.’”
