The Regrettes Debut Original Holiday Song “Holiday-ish” Featuring Dylan Minnette

The Regrettes released a wonderful holiday song, “Holiday-ish” which features Dylan Minnette. The track is super sweet with a gentle whistle in the intro along with a sparkly sound that gets you in the holiday spirit with lyrics, “There’s not much caroling around our street. But if you want to sing along with us, then keep up. But will you creep around when I’m asleep. And turn my right foot stocking to a pair of feet. And the snow won’t fall and the fires too high. And when my family calls, will I pick up or not. And when I hear your voice and I know your around. I couldn’t make a better choice.”

The band also recently released the album, How Do You Love? and have received global praise from various news outlets. They just wrapped their sold-out North American headline tour, earning continued critical acclaim, including Nashville Scene who states, “Lydia Night is already well into a career in rock” and Paste who attests, “I feel truly confident in saying the future of punk rock and garage pop is in good hands.” Next up, The Regrettes will bring their energetic live show across the pond for a UK/Europe headline run.

The new track, “Holiday-ish” was co-written by The Regrettes’ frontwoman Lydia Night and her boyfriend, Dylan. The track will be released as 7” vinyl available on November 29 in celebration of Record Store Day’s Black Friday special. Side A of the 7” is the final studio recording, while Side B includes a demo version of the track that was recorded as a voice memo in the couple’s home.

The Regrettes include band members, Lydia Night (19, vocals), Genessa Gariano (22, guitar), Brooke Dickson (24, bass) and Drew Thomsen (22, drums). In 2018, they played various festivals, including Coachella to Reeading + Leeds and also released their critically acclaimed Attention Seeker EP. The band has also been featured on the covers of L.A. Times, L.A. Weekly and featured on Good Morning America, CONAN and Jimmy Kimmel Live! They toured North America and Europe building worldwide acclaim since their 2017 release of breakthrough debut album, Feel Your Feelings, Fool!

Night wrote the majority of the lyrics for How Do You Love?  and the tracks re filled with personal experiences of falling in and out of love. How Do You Love? with 15 tracks is described as, “Almost 45 minutes of brutal honesty. Oscillating between your headphones, your mind shakes from the rock reverb of ‘California Friends’,  mentions of hand-holding and jittery feelings mimic the chase of a consuming crush.” The band has no interest in playing within basic boundaries, as “Coloring Book” frills each octave with rising tensions like the unpredictability of intimacy.

Kelly Tucker: Originally from Los Angeles, I grew up listening to all types of music. My first concert was Aerosmith with Skid Row, then moved on to concerts with Metallica, Lollapalooza, Guns N’ Roses, Soundgarden and more. One of my favorite shows of all time was when I was in college and someone took me to see the Allman Brothers play. I also scalped a ticket to see Pearl Jam and the amazing Eddie Vedder sing his heart out. My professional career started in 2000 at Nielsen Business Media where I was an assistant in a sales department and later got promoted to advertising account executive. When the recession hit in 2008 and the magazine was sold, I took a job at a call center and later got promoted to assistant to the CEO and COO of a global company. In 2017, I took a position at a pharmaceutical agency, and now currently responsible for coordinating meeting logistics for physicians and pharma reps throughout the United States. In my spare time, I work at Peace4Kids a non-profit in South Los Angeles and write screenplays in hopes to make a breakthrough.
