Kanye West Requested Collaborators To Avoid Premarital Sex During Work on Jesus Is King

Kanye West changed up his rap game with his new album, Jesus is King taking the direction of serving God and praising him.  West went further with his expectations of his collaborators moral behavior and he isn’t just talking the talk he is walking the walk. His rap is on point and new music which is a version of gospel with choir singers and lyrics about Jesus, God and more Christian themes is spread throughout. Various artists and choir singers are performing on the tracks.

The album, Jesus is King features contributions from Ty Dolla $ign, Clipse, Kenny G, Timbaland, Pi’erre Bourne, E*vax of Ratatat, CyHi the Prynce, Ronny J, Labrinth, Francis and the Lights, Mike Dean, Ant Clemons, Fred Hammond and many more. While West has been transformed by his relationship with God, he has also asked his collaborators to refrain from premarital sex while working on his new music project.

West is a born-again Christian and his music reflects his cross-blend of heartfelt and spiritual lyrics in every track. It is a way to feel close to West on a spiritual level and for devout believers to feel closer to God through his music. He has admitted in an interview with Zane Lowe from Beats 1 about how his life has changed, “Now that I’m in service to Christ, my job is to spread the Gospel, to let people know what Jesus has done for me,” West said. “I’ve spread a lot of things. There was a time I let you know what high fashion had done for me, I was letting you know what the Hennessy had done for me… now I’m letting you know what Jesus has done for me.”

West also shared, “It’s known when people pray together, families that pray together stay together. When people pray together and fast together the power is increased.” In the past, West told Kim on the show, “Keeping up with the Kardashians” when her outfit was too sexy and that it affected his soul and spirit when she dressed provocatively. Kim Kardashian West told her husband he encouraged her to dress that way in the past and, “Just because you’re on a journey and you’re in a transformation doesn’t mean I’m in the same spot with you.”

West wanted his team to be in one accord and said, “There’s times where I was asking people to not have premarital sex while they were working on the album,” West said. “There were times when I went to people who were working on other projects and said ‘Could you please just work and focus on this.” He said his conversion happened in April after Coachella when God helped him beat his addictions to pornography and sex. “Playboy was my gateway into full-on pornography addiction,” he said. “My dad had a Playboy left out at age 5, and it’s affected almost every choice I made for the rest of my life from age 5 to now, having to kick the habit.”

Kelly Tucker: Originally from Los Angeles, I grew up listening to all types of music. My first concert was Aerosmith with Skid Row, then moved on to concerts with Metallica, Lollapalooza, Guns N’ Roses, Soundgarden and more. One of my favorite shows of all time was when I was in college and someone took me to see the Allman Brothers play. I also scalped a ticket to see Pearl Jam and the amazing Eddie Vedder sing his heart out. My professional career started in 2000 at Nielsen Business Media where I was an assistant in a sales department and later got promoted to advertising account executive. When the recession hit in 2008 and the magazine was sold, I took a job at a call center and later got promoted to assistant to the CEO and COO of a global company. In 2017, I took a position at a pharmaceutical agency, and now currently responsible for coordinating meeting logistics for physicians and pharma reps throughout the United States. In my spare time, I work at Peace4Kids a non-profit in South Los Angeles and write screenplays in hopes to make a breakthrough.
