Tyler, The Creator has released a new short video for the track “I THINK,” which stars the rapper as his character Igor, the eponymous character in the album of the same name. This latest video was directed by the rapper under his Wolf Haley alias, and was produced by Tara Razavi/Happy Place.
“I THINK,” begins with Igor in a bathroom, as people are shown gambling near the stalls, and a couple are shown exiting one of the toilet stalls, which implies that they were having sex. The next shot cuts to the dance floor, showing Igor navigating through a sea of people, before ultimately closing out on a photo shoot, and a shot of Igor all alone.
Igor has appeared in several music videos, from the latest album including “EARFQUAKE,” and “A BOY IS A GUN*” which both premiered earlier this year. This character is meant to embody his latest album, which deals with themes of heartbreak, loss, love and hope.
“Building from the style and critical acclaim of Flower Boy, Tyler continues to push boundaries personally and creatively with little regard for his past self,” mxdwn reviewer Henry Green explained. “All in all, IGOR is Tyler’s most cohesive project to date and will go down as a pivotal point in his career.”
Tyler performs as the character during his live shows on his most recent set of tours, which have featured Goldlink and Blood Orange as openers. The rapper is also selling various Igor costumes in three colors: powder blue, highlighter and pink, as Halloween costumes on the GOLF store.
