Kanye West has announced another release date for his long-delayed album, Jesus Is King, which is set to be released this Friday, October 25th. This coincides with the release date for the accompanying documentary film for the album, which is set to appear in IMAX movie theaters nationwide.
West is also set to host a playback of the upcoming album, along with a screening of the documentary film in Los Angeles tomorrow, at the Forum. Tickets will be available for free to the public on first come,but they will be served on a first come first served basis on Wednesday morning at 10 A.M. PDT via Ticketmaster, however tickets can also be secured with a pre-order of the new album available here.
The rapper also has donated a million dollars in support of prison reform charities, for his wife, Kim Kardashian’s birthday. The two have long been advocated for prison reform, and have even met with the current US president to commute the life sentence sentence of 63-year-old one-time drug offender Alice Marie Johnson.
Jesus Is King, was originally slated for a late September release, however the artist pushed the date back several times because West was reportedly “making it better.” His highly anticipated 2018 album Yandhi, which had released cover art for the album was never officially released, and was instead scrapped for this upcoming album.
His previous album releases ye, and The Life Of Pablo, were also delayed several times before their official releases. The Life Of Pablo had a particularly tumultuous release, and roll-out, as West launched a special playback event of the album in New York City, which was streamed on the Jay-Z owned music platform Tidal, where the album was originally exclusively released for. The rapper eventually re-released the project as a physical record, and across various streaming platforms a few months later, however this re-release featured different changes to several tracks, and the addition of the song “St. Pablo.”
