Noname, Smino and Saba Form Ghetto Sage and Share New Song “Häagen Dazs”

Alternative hip hop rappers Smino, Noname and Saba have formed a new trio named Ghetto Sage, and have dropped their debut track entitled “Häagen Dazs.” All three artists appeared on the track “Shadow Man,” from Noname’s debut mixtape Telefone back in 2016, which featured many songs produced by Saba, and the trio also appeared on the track “Ace,” featured on Noname’s acclaimed project Room 25, one of our top 50 albums of the year.

“Häagen Dazs” features an eerie instrumental, with trap inspired beats, wonky samples and booming bass, that compliments each rapper’s verse. The track opens with Smino performing the first chorus and verse, before Saba joins in on the second chorus and delivers his verse, and finishes with Noname joining Saba on the chorus, before delivering the song’s final verse.

Noname faces some health issues earlier this year, which caused her to cancel her planned summer tour dates for June and July.

“Due to continued health issues, I’m cancelling the [sic] my shows from June to July,” the rapper said on social media,” I was really looking forward to seeing your beautiful faces, but I promise I’ll be back soon to make it up to you guys! Tried to push through it but things have gotten pretty severe. With lots of rest, medicine, and veggies I should be right back to normal! Hopefully in a few weeks time I’ll be back to my rapping and petty self lol.”

Prior to this the rapper debuted “Song 31,” her first track since the release of her latest album Room 25.
