Indie legend Beck has finally announced a November 22nd release date for his upcoming album Hyperspace, which will be released via Capitol Records. Beck has also shared a new song entitled “Uneventful Days,” one of the seven tracks on the upcoming album featuring production, and songwriting credits from famed Neptunes producer Pharrell Williams.
This latest Beck outing features sparkling electronic production, with traditional-styled drum beats, glittering keys and synth lines, which the singer compliments with a restrained vocal performance. The song brings in the essence of the new album’s cover, featuring Beck in front of a classic red car, with katakana letters channeling vaporwave aesthetics.
Beck debuted “Saw Lightning,” the first single from this recent project back in April. This track was utilized in the Beats by Dr. Dre Powerbeats Pro campaign, and was also co- written and co-produced by Williams, whom Beck has wanted to collaborate with for decades.
“I’ve been waiting for 20 years,” Beck began before continuing with, “this is very different from any situation I’ve made music in. There’s a very particular energy and things happen very fast. It’s completely open, so anything goes. Everything’s on, inspiration strikes, and everything happens incredibly fast. There’s not a lot of second guessing, which is great.”
The performer’s most recent album Colors debuted in 2017, and brought together his eclectic mix of various genres ranging from dance-rock to experimental pop.
