Duster has announced their new self-titled album Duster is set for a winter release. The band announced the news via Instagram with the album set for a Dec. 13 release date. According to Stereogum, the new album will mark the band’s first in 19 years, following their 2000 album Contemporary Movement. It will include 12 brand new tracks and its album artwork was created by an 85-year old painter named Salvatore Olentino. Fans can preorder the album here.
The trio teased about new music last year, posting a photo of studio equipment with the caption “hi. it’s been a long time but we are recording a little bit.” A little over a year after, they released their new song called “Interstellar Tunnel” with its accompanying video this past summer, which the song was described as “half siren, half lullaby.” Earlier this year, they got the comprehensive box set treatment in the form of Capsule Losing Contact. The special release included their two LPs and their 1975 EP, along with singles, demos, and previously unreleased tracks. The band made their anticipated return to the stage late last year, opening for Sandy (Alex G) at The Warsaw in Brooklyn, NY.
Duster consists of members Clay Parton, Canaan Dove Amber, and Jason Albertini, originating from San Jose, California.
