The Courtney Love led alternative rock band Hole has been rehearsing together with its classic 1990s lineup, according to a now deleted post by Love on Instagram. This post carried the caption rust af, along with #hole and #rehearsal, indicating that the band’s highly anticipated reunion may occur some time within the near future.
Love also took the time to respond to one fan, who asked what was going on in regards to her post. She stated that the members were rusty, meaning they needed time to get back into the groove of things, so that they could perform together as a unit once again.
Hole’s most beloved 1990’s line-up consists of Love, guitarist Eric Erlandson, Patty Schemel, and bassists Kristen Pfaff, who all reunited during the band’s 2012 reunion. Love called off another scheduled reunion in 2014, stating that she wanted the reunion to not be obvious, and that she wished to record more material to avoid being forced to perform on the “oldies circuit.”
Hole was one of the most prominent alternative rock bands in the 1990s, showcasing Love’s vocal talent, and their exceptional musicians. Unfortunately, due to the spotlight focused on Love and Cobain’s highly publicized relationship, Cobain’s suicide, and Love’s struggles with drug and alcohol addiction, the performer received more attention for her unorthodox antics in the tabloids, rather than her musical talent.
Love performed songs from the influential band at the Yola Dia fest earlier this year.
