Pop artist Lana Del Rey has extended her current US tour in support of her latest album release Norman Fucking Rockwell, which was released this last August. This tour will see Del Rey hit up various spots across the Southwest, Midwest and Southern United States.
The performer recently performed a cover of the Bob Dylan classic “Don’t Think Twice, It’s Alright“, where she brought out folk singer and legend Joan Baez, who was one of Dylan’s most prominent lovers prior to his massive success in the 1960s. This performance, took place at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, California.
The singer also performed the Joni Mitchell classic “For Free,” during a performance in Seattle, Washington. This track appeared on Mitchell’s 1970 album release Ladies Of The Canyon, and was previously teased on Lana Del Rey’s Instagram back in 2017.
Norman Fucking Rockwell, expanded on the performer’s sound, taking her lovelorn lyricism and nostalgic references to a different setting: California.
“The themes of ethereal sorrow and wistful nostalgia emphasized by the starkness of particular lyrics are what make Norman Fucking Rockwell the very essence of the Lana Del Rey sound,” mxdwn reviewer Marianna Salcedo explained. “Heartache and ’60s vibes ring true in every note of the album and are both so classically Del Rey yet different from any of her previous works. Her growth and unmatched sound are heard in every song and make it clear that Lana Del Rey will continue to be a pop symbol for years to come.
