DevilDriver Cancels Appearance at MegaCruise Due to Cancer Diagnosis of Lead Singer’s Wife and Business Partner Anahstasia Fafara

DevilDriver, the Southern California based metal band has dropped out the the inaugural 2019 Megacruise line-up due to the cancer diagnosis of lead singer Dez Fafara’s wife: Anahstasia Fafara. Dez Fafara made this announcement earlier today on his social media accounts.

“Today my world is BLACK my wife and best friend @mrsfafara was told yesterday she has cancer . Please send positive vibes for our family while we go through this difficult time ,” Fafara said in a recent social media post (both of his accounts are set as private). “#FuckCancer. AT THIS TIME @devildriver IS CANCELLING @themegacruise SO I can be by my wife’s side . Thank you for your understanding .”

Anahstasia serves as the vice president and CEO of Dez Fafara’sThe Oracle Management company, making the two business partners in addition to spouses who have three sons together. She also made an appearance on the cover art for Coal Chamber‘s 1999 album Chamber Music.

Earlier this year it was announced that the band had finished making a double album, which has still not been titled or released as of press time. According to information following the band’s initial announcement, this project was set to be produced by Steve Evetts, who has worked with prominent acts such as The Dillinger Escape Plan and Every Time I Die.

It is unknown whether this announcement will effect the band’s current Wisconsin Death Trip 20th Anniversary Tour, with Static-X which is set to launch next month. This tour was set to begin in Austin, Texas, and finish off in Colorado Springs.
