Miami Beach Pop Festival 2019 Has Been Postponed

The Miami Beach Pop Festival has postponed its inaugural 2019 event due to “unforeseen circumstances,” which have not been clarified as of press time. Prominent performers such as Jack Johnson, Chance the Rapper and Maggie Rogers were supposed to perform at the event, which was originally scheduled to take place from November 8-10.

It is unknown when the festival will be rescheduled, although promoters have announced that their line-up may see some changes, as performers may not be able to accommodate a rescheduled event date. Automatic refunds will be provided to ticket holders who bought their passes through the festival’s official website “within seven business days from today, October 8th,” according to the promoters.

“Miami Beach Pop Festival has announced the postponement of the 2019 event, originally scheduled for November 8-10. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the continuation of the original plan is no longer viable,” a statement from the promoters reads.”The producers of Miami Beach Pop Festival will be working with all involved parties to secure a new date in the future. The lineup will change, as some performers may be unable to accommodate a rescheduled date.”

Several prominent festivals have postponed and later cancelled their events during the past couple of years for a variety of problems. The most infamous case, 2017’s Fyre Festival, wound up with numerous lawsuits, including a $100 million class-action suit, and was the subject of two different documentaries.

Earlier this year the highly anticipated 50th anniversary of Woodstock, Woodstock 50, was officially cancelled after series of internal issues, including lawsuits, a change in venue and artists dropping out of the festival’a line-up.

We apologize for the inconvenience while we determine a new date and the best path forward for the future of the event.

To our supporters and ticket buyers, artists, and the hundreds of people who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes for almost three years to bring this event to life, we thank you. We especially want to thank the City of Miami Beach for its continued support.”
