Steve Earle & City Winery Announce “John Henry’s Friends” Benefit Concert Featuring Jason Isbell, Amanda Shires, Josh Ritter and the Mastersons

Veteran rock and country singer/songwriter Steve Earle and City Winery are proud to announce the fifth annual “John Henry’s Friends” benefit concert on December 17th at Town Hall in New York City. According to press release, all net ticket proceeds from the concert, “…will be donated to The Keswell School, an educational program for children and young adults with autism. Founded on the belief that children diagnosed with ASD can live full and productive lives as integrated members of their communities, The Keswell School provides educational, therapeutic and supportive services for children diagnosed with ASD and their families. This is a topic dear to Steve, as his son, John Henry, attends the school.” As mentioned in the aforementioned press release, the benefit concert will be hosted by Earle and feature performances from Steve Earle & The Dukes, Jason Isbell, Amanda Shires, Josh Ritter and the Mastersons.

Earle is an established figure in the country western genre being that he is cut from the same cloth as his musical predecessors and legendary songwriters, Guy Clark and Townes Van Zandt. Cementing his songwriting abilities, Earle “…quickly became a master storyteller in his own right, with his songs being recorded by Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Emmylou Harris, Waylon Jennings, Travis Tritt, The Pretenders, Joan Baez and countless others. 1986 saw the release of his debut record, Guitar Town, which shot to number one on the country charts and immediately established the term ‘New Country.'” Since then Earle has recorded an array of projects, “…including the Grammy Award Winning albums The Revolution Starts…Now (2004), Washington Square Serenade (2007), and TOWNES (2009). ” Earle just recently released his 19th studio album GUY on March 19 on New West Records.

Tickets for the benefit concert are currently on sale. As previously mentioned in the press release, “A variety of VIP packages are available including an opportunity to have a private dinner for 8 with Steve Earle at City Winery. Please Find Ticket Information HERE. ”
