Halsey Celebrates Her Birthday by Debuting New Single “Clementine”

Burgeoning alternative pop and R&B singer/songwriter Halsey recently celebrated her 25th birthday by releasing “Clementine” her third single from her forthcoming long-awaited third studio album, Manic, last Saturday September 29th. Manic is slated for January 17th, 2020 release on Capitol Records. According to a press release, the accompanying video for “Clementine”,  “…features Halsey and her brother, Sevian Frangipane, in an evocative dance routine that was shot at an aquarium. The clip was directed by Dani Vitale, who also choreographed, and Anton Tammi.”

Halsey has garnered grammy award nomination and multiplatinum success. Her gradual roll out for her latest musical offering has seen chart topping hits. As previously noted in the aforementioned press release, ever since her first single, released late last year, from Manic, “‘Without Me’ has made Halsey the first and only female artist to have at least three songs chart on the Billboard Hot 100 for 50 weeks each. Rounding out the trio of songs are the 2x Platinum ‘Eastside,’ her collaboration with Benny Blanco and Khalid, and The Chainsmokers’ 10x Platinum ‘Closer,’ which she featured on. ‘Without Me’ spent two weeks at No. 1 on the Hot 100 in early 2019, marking her first solo single to reach the top spot. It now ranks as the longest-running Billboard Hot 100 top 10 hit by a female artist of this century. She is the first artist to rank at Nos. 1 and 2 simultaneously on Billboard’s Hot 100 Pop Songs radio airplay chart.”

Due to long stretches in the recording process, Halsey has described her latest album Manic as just that. Speaking on her latest musical offering in last month’s Rolling Stone cover story , Halsey is quoted as saying it’s “the first I’ve ever written manic.” Halsey furthers her statement describing Manic as a sampling of “hip-hop, rock, country, fucking everything — because it’s so manic. It’s soooooo manic. It’s literally just, like, whatever the fuck I felt like making; there was no reason I couldn’t make it.”
