Dino Cazares, the guitarist for Fear Factory has refuted Burton C. Bell’s claims that their will be a new Fear Factory album, which was set to be released this year. Cazares stated that “There is no new FF album,” on his Twitter, in response to a fan asking about the project.
Bell claimed that a new Fear Factory album was supposed to be released some time this year, however there has been very few updates regarding this project since last December. The singer went as far as revealing some cover art for the album, and a title Monolith, for the project.
It is possible that Bell may have been planning a new studio without Cazares however, from 2003 to 2009 he continued the project without the guitarist. Bell is also the only consistent member of the group, which has gone through a variety of line-ups for the past three decades.
Earlier this year it was announced that Warner Brothers and X5 Music Group would be releasing a compilation album of Fear Factory’s works from their Roadrunner Records Era. Cazares stated that this was done without any input from the band, however he stated that it was their company’s right to release the project.
Fear Factory originated as a heavy metal band in 1989, and was founded by Bell, Cazares, David Gibney and Raymond Herrera. Throughout their years as performers they have evolved to perform a variety of genres such as nu metal, death metal, groove metal, and thrash metal.
UPDATE (10/4): Cazares posted a cryptic tweet, indicating that Fear Factory, or Cazares and Bell, are involved in a legal suit.
“The Great Lemmy Kilmister once said “there are three things that could cause the demise of a rock/metal band: Drugs, Alcohol and Women “but he forgot one (sic) thing Lawsuits,” Cazares posted on Twitter.
