Ty Segall Announces Box Set Pig Man Lives Volume I Featuring Demos From 2007-2017 Period

Singer-songwriter Ty Segall has just announced a new boxset entitled Pig Man Lives Volume I, which features demos recorded from 2007 to 2017. These demos, which will be released on November 1st via Drag City, helped inspire works such as Manipulator, Freedom’s Goblin, Emotional Mugger, Twins, Ty Segall, Slaughterhouse and Sleeper.

This set will be released as an LP, featuring eight sides and 48 songs that capture this decade long period in Segall’s career. Some of the tracks featured on this compilation have never seen a wide release.

Segall has recently been hosting residencies in multiple locations such as Los Angeles, Brooklyn, Paris, London and The Netherlands. Segall released the album First Taste earlier this year.

“His creativity is consuming him and pushing him further away from the promise he once held,” mxdwn reviewer Rene Cobar wrote in a review of the album. “Ty Segall sounded like no one else; he had a style that incorporated the fury of rock’s past with the modern sounds of today. At the moment, Segall is just another artist trying too hard to be different, and it shows.”
