Swedish progressive metal band Opeth have announced a winter 2020 tour, in support of their most recent album In Cauda Venenum, which was released last week via Moderbolaget and Nuclear Blast. This tour will start off at the Agora Theatre in Cleveland, Ohio, and will finish off at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, California.
The band have also debuted a new song entitled “Cirkelns Riktning” which coincided with this tour announcement. The song is hard hitting, featuring pounding drums, electric guitars and electric bass, along with more melodic elements such as acoustic guitars, that compliment the lead vocalist.
“Well, after having had the In Cauda Venenum LP released we’re set to start touring in support of it. Right now, I’m at home practicing. Learning new songs and re-learning older songs. It’s funny how our music lies dormant in the muscle memory. There are songs I haven’t played for years, and there still there somehow,” the band said in a recent statement. “I put together the skeleton of a setlist and looking at it there’s some niceties in there. I hope. Hard to tell really. Touring in North America is always a treat. We all collectively look forward to it. Hope you are too!”
Prior to the release of their recent album, Opeth debuted a music video for the track “Dignity.” The group also performed at Psycho Las Vegas earlier this year.
