Screaming Females Release Early Song “Pretty OK” from 2007 Split Single

It’s only been about a year since Screaming Females released their excellent album All At Once, so to tide fans over they’ve announced the release of a compilation album called Singles Too. That record is out on October 18, 2019 and to tease the release the band’s shared a song from the comp, called “Pretty Ok.”

The song is pulled from a split 7″ single Screaming Females did in 2007 with full of fancy. Despite the lower production values and a bit of a more raw sound, it’s undeniably Screaming Females, with ripping guitar riffs and Marissa Paternoster’s unique vocals.

As a fun aside, the band has also announced a karaoke contest for their fans. They ask that fans submit a video of them singing along with the band’s song “Hopeless,” from their sixth album Rose Mountain, released in 2015. The four winners, who will be chosen at random, will receive test pressing of Singles Too as well as a test pressing of their 7″ featuring Guided By Voices covers and a 7″ of their AV Club session. The video below offers instructions on entering the contest. The band recently wrapped up a tour and have an appearance at OctFest on the schedule on October 19.
