Xiu Xiu Cancels Fall 2019 Tour, Cites Mental Illness As the Reason

Experimental art-rock band Xiu Xiu has canceled their upcoming Fall 2019 tour in an announcement from their label Thursday, September 19th. According to the latest article on Pitchfork, the cancellation is due to the mental health and well being of the founding member of Xiu Xiu. “Jamie [Stewart] needs to take some time to focus on his mental health and get the proper rest he needs in order to do so,” statement that was made by Polyvinyl Records.

Xiu Xiu’s current touring roster consists of band members Jaime Stewart, Thor Harris and Christopher Pravdica. The band released their eleventh studio album, Girl with Basket of Fruit, this past February. Xiu Xiu did perform shows earlier this year in support of the release of the record.
