Les Claypool is set to have a New Year’s bash near his home town in the San Francisco Bay Area, with a scheduled performance by the Claypool Lennon Delirium, along with their special guest Sausage, a band led by Claypool with former Primus band members Jay Lane and Todd Huth. This will be the funk rock band’s first performance in over 25 years, and will take place at The Warfield Theatre in San Francisco.
Huth was a founding member of Primus with Claypool, while Lane temporarily played with the band for a short period in 1988. Huth left soon after Lane’s departure, to focus time on raising his family, while Claypool continued on with Primus.
In 1994 the three reunited, and formed a small funk rock group named Sausage, based on the title of one of Primus’ unreleased 1988 demos. While the band fell apart soon after, the three have reunited several times, including as part of the band Colonel Les Claypool’s Fearless Flying Frog Brigade from 2000-2004.
Pre-sale & VIP options will go on sale tomorrow, Wednesday, Sept 18th at 10 a.m.Pacific. General public on-sale will take place this Friday, September 20th at 10 a.m.Pacific.
Jim James and The Claypool Lennon Delirium recently closed out a set of summer co-headlining tour dates across the United States earlier this year. The band released their latest album South of Reality earlier this year.
According to a recent interview, the album discusses:
“The lascivious exploits of famed JPL rocket scientist Jack Parsons, the man who not only helped America get to the moon with liquid fuel technology, but was also a Magister Templi in Aleister Crowley’s cult, the Ordo Templi Orientis.”
