Ladytron Debuts Harrowing Music Video for “Deadzone”

Ladytron has released the music video for “Deadzone,” featured on the high fidelity, critically acclaimed self-titled album released earlier this year. Helen Marnie of the band stars in the video, which takes place in a car, showing the result of a fatal car crash. “It is a nightmarish scenario that depicts the meeting of two worlds,” stated Marnie. “Imagine being in the midst of a dream and being unable to shout or scream or move, and ultimately not knowing whether you are dead or alive. That is the Deadzone.” See the new visual below.

The band will be playing a few live shows throughout October in North America, officially kicking off Oct. 2 at the Brooklyn Steel in Brooklyn, NY. It will then continue to play in Boston, Montreal and Toronto. Their self-titled album released earlier this year is their first release of new music in 8 years. The band’s very own Daniel Hunt spoke with mxdwn about the band’s anticipated return.  “We released five albums in 10 years from 2001 to 2011 with a lot of touring around the world in between. It was time for a break, but we did not expect it to last quite so long. Life took over as it does. We moved countries, continents, had families and so on. He continued to say, “Finally, in 2016 we were all ready to begin working on a new album. The hardest part was keeping quiet about it for two years.”
