Wynonna & The Big Noise Release Cass McCombs Co-Written Song “The Child” Ahead of Debut Performance of The Frothy Pit

Wynonna & The Big Noise have released a new song entitled “The Child,” which was co-written by label mate Cass McCombs. McCombs will be performing with the group’s lead singer Wynonna Judd as part of The Frothy Pit tomorrow during the AmericanaFest, on September 12, 2019.

The track takes the signature American roots and Americana sound, blending the elements of country, pop and rockabilly which both artists have been renowned for. Lyrically the track also explores the roots of Americana, discussing elements of traditionally American culture.

Both of the artists have made prominent names for themselves in the alternative country scene, with McCombs earning praise for his nuanced song writing, while Judd has been acclaimed by many for her strong vocal performances. This latest single is a sneak peek at what the artists may bring to the table as part of The Frothy Pit.

“Getting to work with artists like Cass McCombs has broadened my musical horizons and made me even more grateful that even after 35 years I still love the creative process,” Wynonna said in a press statement.

McCombs has also offered praise for Judd, stating that he grew up listening to her work since he was a child. Judd began her music career in 1983 as part of the country duo The Judds.

“Like many people, I grew up listening to The Judds,” Cass McCombs explained in a press release. “Needless to say, it’s been a real honor to collaborate with Wynonna, co-writing “The Child” together and stepping into the uncharted terrain of The Frothy Pit.”
