The 20th New Yorker Festival Announces 2019 Lineup Featuring Bon Iver, Florence + the Machine and Dua Lipa

The 20th New Yorker Festival is set to take place from October 11 – 13 in vatrious locations across New York City this year, and features stellar line-up including Bon Iver, Florence + The Machine and Dua Lipa. In addition talks by prominent artists such as legendary Talking Heads frontman David Byrne, Punk pioneer and poet Patti Smith, Bill Nye, Rob Delaney, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi,  comedian Hasan Minhaj, actor Willem Dafoe, The Wire/The Deuce creator David Simon, actor Paul Rudd and actor Kenan Thompson is also set to take place.

Tickets go on sale Tuesday, September 10 at 10 AM, with a magazine subscriber presale starting Monday (9/9) at 10 AM. Bon Iver, Florence + The Machine, Liz Phair and Dua Lipa are all set to have talks prior to their performances at the festival as well.

The New Yorker Festival is unique in several ways, as one of the main events hosted by the world-renowned magazine, the festival hosts numerous figures from the world of the arts, media, and politics. Some of these choices in the past have led to controversy, however, last year Breitbart’s executive chairman Steve Bannon was scheduled to make an appearance, which prompted backlash and people cancelling their scheduled appearances. His interview was subsequently dropped from the festival in response.

Bon Iver recently dropped their fourth studio album i, i earlier this year, which saw the group venture into experimental territories, borrowing elements of world music, gospel, folk and electronic music into this release. Prior to the release of this album, the performers dropped eight songs from the album online the day prior to its release.
