Indie rock duo Bleached have just released a new music video for “Daydream,” an upbeat single featured on the album Don’t You Think You’ve Had Enough?, released earlier this year via Dead Oceans. This latest visual was directed by Giraffe Studios, who directed all of the other video projects for the latest album.
The song is hosts a joyous guitar line, and a simplistic backing bass and drum beat blending in elements of garage rock and indie that creates a nostalgic, albeit straightforward feel. Jennifer Clavin’s vocals compliment the track well for this latest single, for this straight to the point pop-rock banger.
“Daydream,” shows the two sisters off in a field, where the duo perform the track out in the open space on their own, and later with their full backing band and the instruments. The simplistic visual helps capture a DIY aesthetic, that is simplistic and straight forward like its musical track.
“‘Daydream’ was born from a premonition about driving to the desert to write a song. It is my favorite song on the record,” says Jennifer in a press release. “While it can be interpreted as a love song at its core, it’s about how our minds are our masters. We tend to dwell on the past, live in regret with ‘what ifs’ but what’s the point? It’s a waste of our time and takes us out of the present. Letting go can be challenging but it’s worth it when the weight lifts and you finally feel free.”
