Deftones Perform Koi No Yokan Track “Gauze” Live for the First Time Ever Ever at Pasadena Daydream Festival

Sacramento-based alternative metal group Deftones recently performed “Gauze”, a deep cut from their 2012 album Koi No Yokan, at the Pasadena Daydream Festival on August 31st. According to ThePRP, this was the live debut for the song, seven years after its original release. Fortunately, a fan recorded the performance in its entirety and uploaded the footage to Youtube. Check it out below:

This Pasadena Daydream Festival set was the group’s first live performance since November of 2018. They have reportedly been working on new material throughout 2019 and have few other major festival bookings in their future (Exit 111 Festival in Manchester, Tennessee on October 13th and their Dia de los Deftones festival in San Diego, CA on November 2nd). The group’s most recent full-length project, Gore, was released in 2016 to both critical acclaim and the group’s highest Billboard debut (number two with 69k units sold).

Matthew Jordan: I grew up in Massachusetts, but I am currently a student at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. I picked up my first musical instrument (viola) in the 3rd grade, and have been a fan of everything the medium has to offer ever since. Some of my favorite artists right now include Matt Maltese, Idles, MIKE, Benny the Butcher, Standing on the Corner, Built to Spill, and Frank Ocean. I also love following the charts and the music business to see what is connecting with listeners and why.
