Deathprod Announces Occulting Disk, First Album in 15 Years Set for October 25th

Deathprod aka Helge Sten, a Norwegian ambient noise artist and producer, made his public debut with Treetop Drive in 1994 and released the acclaimed Morals and Dogma album in 2004, a stunning dark ambient masterpiece that asserted his place in noise rock history. After a 15 year-long hiatus, Sten returns to the Deathprod project with OCCULTING DISK.

Recorded in Oslo, Reykjavik, Berlin, Cologne and Los Angeles between 2012 and 2019, Occulting Disk is billed as an “anti-fascist ritual” and comes with liner notes from indie-folk singer/songwriter Will Oldham (aka Bonnie Prince Billy). The notes are suggestive of the spirit of the upcoming project.

Occulting Disk is set to be released on October 25th on Smalltown Supersound in double LP, CD and digital formats. Pre-orders are available now. To celebrate the album’s release, Deathprod will perform special show at the Oslo Opera House on November 10th. Sten released his 2017 reissue of Treetop DriveMorals and Dogma and Imaginary Songs From Tristan Da Cunha. Check out our review HERE.
