Moor Mother Announces New Album Analog Fluids of Sonic Black Holes for November 2019 Release and Shares “After Images”

Philadelphia-based electronic musician Camae Ayewa, better known as Moor Mother, is dropping a new album titled Analog Fluids of Sonic Black Holes, which is set to be released on November 8 via Don Giovanni Records. Following this EP is a new single titled “After Images,” with accompanying album art to promote the project.

This latest track blends multiple genres, most prominently lo-fi industrial music and hip hop reminiscent of experimental hip hop groups such as Death Grips. The bass is hard-hitting as Moor Mother’s voice cuts through the darkness with passion and aggression, that makes the track and its static-like instrumental a bit unsettling.

Analog Fluids is set to feature more of Moor Mother’s unique blend of musical genres, while also featuring deep lyrical themes that also cross-genre blending history, science fiction, culture and music. The Black account is portrayed on the album through the music and dystopian themes that expand on a complex history.

“On Analog Fluids, haunting slave narratives are presented as dystopian allegory and negro spirituals are flipped, remixed, and recaptured, only to be digitized into a symbiotic bio-morph program for the post-thumb drive age,” a press release for the album states. “It’s a record rich with the noise and chaos that affirm Moor Mother’s punk roots, yet it is also anchored in earthiness via the constant injection of Black ritual, poetry, and drums programmed to vibrate through the listener’s mitochondria.”

Moor Mother was previously featured on another hip hop industrial fusion track released earlier this year, entitled “System Error,” by Zonal.
