Foo Fighters, Lizzo, Beck, Lady Gaga, Kacey Musgraves and Ariana Grande are just a few of nearly 140 artists who have joined Planned Parenthood’s campaign #BansOffMyBody. The artists have signed a letter in support of the campaign, which is an initiative that spreads awareness about the surge of restrictive anti-abortion laws that are being passed in states all across America under Donald Trump’s administration.
According to Consequence of Sound, the letter will be featured in an ad called “Band Together, Bans Off” in the latest issue of Billboard magazine. Nine Inch Nails, St. Vincent, John Legend, The 1975, Carly Rae Jepsen, Queens of the Stone Age, Sleater-Kinney, Bon Iver, HAIM, Nicki Minaj, Pussy Riot, Megan Thee Stallion, Troye Sivan, Kim Gordon, Mitski, Miley Cyrus, Fiona Apple, Spoon, and The National are also in full support.
In a press statement from Planned Parenthood, they stated: “Specifically, the artists are asking their supporters to add their name to a national petition calling for an end to the abortion bans, with a goal of collecting half a million signatures by the anniversary of Roe v. Wade in January 2020.”
Billie Eilish also made a statement in support, saying “We cannot live freely and move fully in the world when our basic right to access the reproductive health care we need is under attack. Every person deserves the right to control their body, their life, and their future.

Earlier this year, Amanda Palmer joined abortion-rights activists in rally outside of Missouri’s Governors Office in June, including a performance of “In My Mind.”
