65daysofstatic Debuts “trackerplatz” a Second Single From Upcoming Record replicr, 2019

65daysofstatic has just released “trackerplatz,” the second single from their upcoming album, replicr, 2019. This will be the band’s first studio record since its 2013 album, Wild Light. Although the band hasn’t released a studio album in over six years, it remains at the front line for creative solutions to this ever-changing music industry. Back in 2016, the band partnered up with the indie studio, Hello Games, to create the soundtrack to the action, adventure survival game, No Man’s Sky. The group also curated a new music subscription service earlier this year that would allow its fans to listen to a vast library of old and new material throughout their subscription. Originating in Sheffield, England, 65daysofstatic has been well known for their experimental outlook on music, once having their music be described as, “taking a tour from post-rock to a rave,” by Q magazine, this record will be nothing short of that.

As mentioned earlier, “trackerplatz” is the second single coming off the band’s album, replicr, 2019, which is set to release on September 27th. The song takes the listener on an overall journey of emotions, starting with a sad, empty feeling, then evolving into more of a motivated and inspired attitude as the song continues. There is no need for lyrics because 65daysofstatic excels at the ability to tell a story with instrumental progressions. The magical blend between the distorted flute and heavy sounding guitar was only complemented by the precise timing of the heartbeat-like kick. The static nature at the end of the song fits right with the name of the band. If replicr, 2019 is anything like this track, then fans of 65daysofstatic should be ecstatic.

The band is excited for fans to hear its new work. Drummer Rob Jones described the album as, “a temporality that is an illusion.” This 14 track, 42-minute record is directly plugging itself into the ever-changing world and attempts to depict the reality that, in the band’s opinion, is often fogged.
