mxdwn PREMIERE: Exhorts Against the Mob Mentality in New Song “Mobocracy,” Announces New EP and Fall 2019 Divine Descent Tour Dates

<PIG> is back with another slab of distorted, mangled, politically-focused industrial goodness in the form of a new song called “Mobocracy.” The song’s new lyric video features Raymond Watts delivering the lyrics in a punishing manner behind brutally dark imagery obscured by sinister static and flashing imagery of a riot scene, hammering home the dangers of our descent into mob rule.

“Mobocracy is rule by the mob,” said Watts about the title “Mobocracy. “The song decries the meltdown of morality and the rise of mobocracy, which is fuelled and whipped up by the poison that pours from the perma-tanned reality stars running the asylum, who cheer and steer the frenzy of bitterness, bile and hatred that is in turn fed by their own fear.”

“Bryan from Black Asteroid introduced me to Kill Switch Auto, who directed and treated the video,” said Watts. “When I saw his work I knew his brutal and gritty visual aesthetic would be a perfect match for the song and its subject matter. Footage was shot of me in London, then the real magic was made in Berlin by Kill Switch Auto. He is currently holed up there…finger forever upon the button.”

The new EP shares a title with this latest single and is only available to those that purchase the VIP package for <PIG>’s upcoming Divine Descent US tour dates. The Mobocracy EP includes four songs, two of which are remixes. One of the dates on the tour is at the popular and growing industrial/electronic music festival Cold Waves, appearing at its Chicago edition.

Watts has been busy with <PIG> over the last couple of years. Earlier this year he released a cover album called Candy. Just before that, he released a holiday-themed covers EP called Black Mass. In 2018 the band released a full LP of original music called Risen, which he talked to us about in detail in an interview.
