Alison Wonderland Releases New Club Banger “Time” Featuring Quix

Alison Wonderland the New Zealand electronic artist released a new track, “Time” which starts off with an electronic beat and club vibe. The song morphs with a peppy beat against harmonizers that build tempo. The song then escalates quickly with the beat completely transforming into a heavier motion before Wonderland’s vocals come through with lyrics, “Hey, won’t you give me a sign.” The track has been described as having a meandering crawl and moving through some kind of dark, clubby, technicolored goo.

Wonderland was trained as a classical musician at a young age, specializing in cello then later developed an interest in electronic dance music. She visited a club in her early years, “I went out to a club called Candy’s Apartment… Someone played ‘Silent Shout’ by the Knife… I remember just completely zoning out… and walking over to the DJ and asking, ‘What is this track?! Please tell someone what this track is, because this is amazing’.”

Back in 2012, Alison Wonderland worked as a remixer on Sam Sparro’s “I Wish I Never Met You” and toured with the Parklife Music Festival performing remixes, Sparro’s “I Wish I Never Met You” and Ladyhawke’s “Blue Eyes (Alison Wonderland Remix)”. Purple Sneakers’ Lauren Payne noticed, Wonderland’s version of “Blue Eyes” and commented, “a very digital remix of Ladyhawke’s catchy new single. Swapping the guitar and drums for a more electronic vibe, [Wonderland] has make some techno tweaks to the single and the end product is, in true [Wonderland] style, just plain splendiferous!”

Wonderland sold out two shows at Colorado’s famed Red Rocks Amphitheatre on August 10 and September 12, 2019. She is set to perform at New York City’s Electric Zoo Festival on September 1, plus Dancefestopia on September 6 and Imagine Music Festival in Hampton, Georgia on September 20.

Kelly Tucker: Originally from Los Angeles, I grew up listening to all types of music. My first concert was Aerosmith with Skid Row, then moved on to concerts with Metallica, Lollapalooza, Guns N’ Roses, Soundgarden and more. One of my favorite shows of all time was when I was in college and someone took me to see the Allman Brothers play. I also scalped a ticket to see Pearl Jam and the amazing Eddie Vedder sing his heart out. My professional career started in 2000 at Nielsen Business Media where I was an assistant in a sales department and later got promoted to advertising account executive. When the recession hit in 2008 and the magazine was sold, I took a job at a call center and later got promoted to assistant to the CEO and COO of a global company. In 2017, I took a position at a pharmaceutical agency, and now currently responsible for coordinating meeting logistics for physicians and pharma reps throughout the United States. In my spare time, I work at Peace4Kids a non-profit in South Los Angeles and write screenplays in hopes to make a breakthrough.
