Cult Of Luna, a powerful rock band from Sweden, have announced a brand new album for release later this year. The album is titled A Dawn To Fear and will be released via Metal Blade Records on September 20th. The project will be the group’s first new material by themselves since 2013. Their last major studio release was the Vertikal and Vertikal II albums that year. Fans have been eagerly awaiting more information about new music from Cult of Luna since the group released the single “The Silent Man” back in May. The band also released a music video for that single alongside the album announcement today.
Cult Of Luna have been making music together for 20 years and have an impressive discography under their belt at this point. The group has most recently released a live album titled Live At The Scala, continuing to give fans new content while not working on brand new material. The last new material that the group put out was in 2016, with their collaborative EP titled Mariner. The EP was a project between Cult Of Luna and singer Julie Christmas. Earlier this year, however, Cult of Luna released their first brand new studio single in years. The track, titled “The Silent Man” is now confirmed to be the first song off of the group’s new project.
The official announcement of the A Dawn To Fear project came alongside the music video for “The Silent Man” and information about the project itself. The album will be eight songs total, however it will have a runtime of nearly 80 minutes. Each of the songs is a journey in itself, with the single that has been released being 10 and a half minutes long. The music video for “The Silent Man” runs at just under 11 minutes long and acts as the first part of the story that will be told on the A Dawn To Fear album. The band also announced that the project is now available for preorder on Metal Blade’s website in a variety of formats. Fans can order the album in both physical and digital forms, with a wide range of colored vinyls to choose from.
