The Lumineers had one of the largest singalongs of the weekend

The Lumineers have shared a new video for their song “It Wasn’t Easy To Be Happy For You” from their upcoming LP III, slated to be released Sept. 13 via Dualtone.  The video shows the main character Junior Sparks’ encounter with a mystery woman who turns out to be imaginary. Leading man Wes Schultz described the new track in a press release, stating “We try to speak kindly after a breakup, but sometimes the truth is a different story. This is the introduction to Junior Sparks, through his eyes and first-love heartbreak.” See the video below.

The band will be taking a different approach with the album as it will be divided into three chapters. The first, titled Gloria Sparks was released this past spring. It featured the single “Gloria” and its music video. The second chapter, Junior Sparks will include the new track. Junior Sparks, who is the grandson of Gloria will then follow the third and final chapter, Jimmy Sparks, Gloria’s sonEach chapter is being released as an audio EP within the full-length album. Even more new tracks from the new record will be coming within the few weeks, including “Leader Of The Landslide”, the next song from Junior Sparks August 2 with a video for it coming August 5, and the chapter’s third song “Left For Denver” will be available on August 16 with the video coming August 19.

The band will also be playing some festivals this summer, including Outside Lands, and Bumbershoot this fall.
