The Replacements Announce Dead Man’s Pop Box Set For September 2019 Release Featuring Don’t Tell a Soul “Mixed As It Was Originally Intended”

Dead Man’s Pop, a box set of The Replacements will be out on September 27 via Rhino. According to Pitchfork, the new box set contains four compact CDs and one vinyl LP, featuring 60 songs, including their 1989 album Don’t Tell a Soul, their past live performances, and a previously archived studio session with Tom Waits.

The “mixed as it was originally intended” package is bound with a hardcover book featuring Bob Mehr’s photos and an essay. This is Mehr’s second collaboration with The Replacements after he published the biography Trouble Boys: The True Story of the Replacements in 2015.

This is not their first time to release a box set. Back to 2015, the group reissued box set containing all of their studio albums. Fans of The Replacements were left with myth since the band announced their second break-up in the same year. But the new Dead Man’s Pop box set definitely brings out their joy after such a long wait. Check out the artwork of Dead Man’s Pop below.
