The Doors To Drop Unreleased Material For The Soft Parade Reissue This October In Celebration Of Their 50th Anniversary

Legendary psychedelic rock band The Doors are set to have a re-release of their classic album The Soft Parade, in celebration of the album’s 50th anniversary. The album, which is scheduled for an Oct. 18th release, is set to feature some early and unreleased cuts, including an early version of “Roadhouse Blues” which is sung by organist Ray Manzarek.

While The Soft Parade is noted for its use of horn and strong arrangements throughout the entire album, this re-release is set to feature “Doors only” version of the songs, without these arrangement.  “Tell All the People,” “Touch Me,” “Wishful Sinful,” “Runnin’ Blue” and “Who Scared You” will be some of the tracks that have edited out these arrangements.

In addition,  “Touch Me,” “Wishful Sinful” and “Runnin’ Blue” will hold even more stripped down versions, featuring new guitar parts from Robby Krieger. Two other tracks which have never been officially released include “(You Need Meat) Don’t Go No Further” and “I’m Your Doctor,” will also be included as part of this special addition, featuring bassist Robert DeLeo of Stone Temple Pilots fame. In addition to the legendary Doors one hour jam session “Rock Is Dead,” which has been a popular bootleg for decades.
