Drummer of Black Sabbath, Bill Ward, has recently expressed interest in reuniting with the group in a post made to social media last week. The drummer had not performed with the band on their farewell tour a few years ago, with many speculating that a falling out had occurred between Ward and the other bandmates. While that tour was said to be the group’s last, with Black Sabbath performing their final album, this is not the first time the former bandmates have expressed an interest in uniting once again.
A few weeks ago, bassist Geezer Butler mentioned his openness to a possible reunion in an interview with Classic Rock magazine. Butler had stated that if the opportunity arose for the group to reunite, he wouldn’t be opposed at some point in the future. Referring to his work with his new band, Deadland Ritual, Butler said that he had thought he would never work with another band, but found himself bored of retirement. So in regards to a possible reunion, the bassist thought it was not permanently off the table.
Now Ward is mentioning the possibility of a reunion as well. In his post on twitter, which can be found below, the drummer stated that he still loved his former bandmates, putting to rest any ideas of a lasting feud between the Sabbath members. He also said that he would be open to the idea of a reunion of some kind moving forwards. The post was made simply for Ward to make this announcement, making it seem like he really wanted fans to know he had been thinking about the possibility. While the group officially dissolved with the release of their album 13 and the subsequent tour, Ward was not a part of either of those efforts. A new reunion would be a fitting end to the group if all four members were able to be a part of it.
