In a recent interview with Consequence of Sound, The Who frontman Roger Daltrey discussed how his abilities as a musician are starting to change as he approaches old age. He revealed that he expected his voice to deteriorate very soon. “Obviously within the next five years I think my voice will go, age will get it in the end”, Daltrey said. While this may be devastating to The Who’s vast fanbase, Daltrey also made it clear later in the interview that as of now, his voice is perfectly fine, despite his busy touring schedule.
To say Daltrey has kept his voice busy in recent years would be an understatement. Just last year, Daltrey released As Long As I Have You, his tenth solo album and first in almost 25 years, to positive reviews. The Who have already performed 11 arena shows in the past two months with about 20 left as a part of their Moving On! Tour. Their next live date is July 6th at Wembley Stadium in their home country, England. This is the only show in Europe on the current tour. The band is also expected to release a new album by the end of the year.
