Yesterday, President Trump tweeted a fan-edited video mocking the Democratic presidential debates for their technical difficulties. The video used Ozzy Osbourne’s “Crazy Train” and the Osbourne family had something to say. Sharon Osbourne wrote in a tweet, “Based on this morning’s unauthorized use of Ozzy Osbourne’s “Crazy Train,” we are sending notice to the Trump campaign they are forbidden from using Ozzy’s music in political ads.
The Osbourne’s humorously said that the president could look into using other songs from musicians that support him such as Kanye West, Kid Rock and Ted Nugent.
President Trump has a history with the Osbourne as Sharon was a contestant on season nine of Trump’s reality television series, The Apprentice. Sharon expressed her distaste for Trump running for president in 2016 when she said on Conan: “Even if he gets in, he won’t last. They’ll have his ass out of there by Christmas.”
This is not the first time that a rock legend has demanded that Trump stops using their music in his political pursuits. Steven Tyler from Aerosmith sent the president as cease and desist letter in response to him using “Living On The Edge” at a rally in West Virginia.
Besides condemning the president on Twitter, Ozzy threw his legendary Ozz Fest on New Year’s Eve at The Forum featuring acts such as Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie and Johnathan Davis. The year 70-year-old lead singer of Black Sabbath was admitted to the hospital for strong case of the flu and consequently had to cancel all other 2019 tour dates.
“I can’t believe I have to reschedule more tour dates. Words cannot express how frustrated, angry and depressed I am not to be able to tour right now.I’m grateful for the love and support I’m getting from my family, my band, friends and fans, it’s really what’s keeping me going. Just know that I am getting better every day… I will fully recover… I will finish my tour… I will be back” Ozzy said in a press statement.
Ozzy is still in the midst of recovering in the care of his family.
