Southern California pop-punk band Bleached are about to release a new album Don’t You Think You’ve Had Enough? in July and today they’ve released the latest single called “Rebound City.” As one would guess from the title, the guitar-driven power-pop song lyrically touches on the fallout of a breakup. “This song is a brief history of the mistakes I’ve made,” said singer Jennifer Clavin, “Except there really are no mistakes, they’re all lessons in the end. No regrets! Listen loud.”
“Rebound City” is the fourth single to be released from the new album, following “Shitty Ballet,” “Hard To Kill” and most recently “Kiss You Goodbye.” While the previous songs indicate a shift in sound for the band, which consists of sisters Jessie and Jennifer Clavin, “Rebound City” retains some the distorted riffs and upbeat tempos of their earlier releases.
The Clavin sisters formed Bleached in 2011 following the break-up of cult Los Angeles DIY-punk band Mika Miko. The band’s first album Ride Your Heart was released in 2013 on Dead Oceans after the group debuted with a trio of EPs, Francis, Carter, and Searching Through the Past b/w Electric Chair. Three years later they released their sophomore album Welcome The Worms, in which the group further honed their power-pop sound. Like their previous two LPs, Don’t You Think You’ve Had Enough? will be released on Dead Oceans.
